Teresa Wheeler is the daughter of well-known artist Michael Wheeler and grew up in a home where producing artwork was a way of life.
She sold her first drawing at age 12, began drawing pencil portraits at age 13 and started painting in acrylic at age 17. She had her first solo show at Central Bank Gallery in Lexington, KY in 2006 and since then has had regular shows at Artist’s Attic Gallery in Lexington, KY.
In 2009 she made her debut at Classic Art Gallery in Carmel, California, joining her father.
She has been represented by South Hill Gallery in Lexington, KY since 2012.
In addition to gallery representation and periodic shows, she often works by commission, creating custom portraits or figurative scenes, working from photos provided by the client.
Teresa tries to create paintings that convey the beauty of nature, the joy of human relationships and lift the hearts and minds of those who view her work toward the Author of all that it good, true and beautiful.
Teresa lives in Springfield, Kentucky with her husband (and web designer) Alex Matan.
